Sales Funnel Pt.1

Sales Funnel Pt.1

A sales funnel is a process that describes the steps that a potential customer goes through from first becoming aware of a product or service to eventually making a purchase. Here is a general overview of how a sales funnel works:

  1. Awareness: At the top of the funnel, the potential customer becomes aware of the product or service through various marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, paid ads, and other forms of advertising.

  2. Interest: The potential customer expresses interest in the product or service by taking an action such as signing up for a newsletter, downloading a free resource, or browsing through the website. This step is also known as lead generation.

  3. Consideration: At this stage, the potential customer is considering purchasing the product or service and is looking for more information. They might compare the product with other products, read reviews, and gather more information.

  4. Intent: The potential customer has made the decision to purchase the product or service, and is taking steps towards making the purchase such as adding the product to the cart, filling out the order form, or contacting the sales team.

  5. Purchase: The potential customer completes the purchase and becomes a customer.

  6. Loyalty: The customer becomes a loyal customer by returning to make future purchases, leaving positive reviews, and recommending the product or service to others.

The sales funnel is often represented as a funnel shape because as the potential customer moves through each stage of the funnel, the number of potential customers becomes smaller and smaller. Understanding the sales funnel is important for businesses because it helps them identify areas of the funnel where they are losing potential customers, and improve the customer journey to increase conversions and drive growth.
